This program is designed to help students stay on track to graduate with their class. Any student who should need any extra help for any reason, social or academic, will be identified through a process and then services will be provided accordingly.

Off to a good start...
We are off to a great start this school year. This year we no longer have a JEL group, but we are working with Bobbie Jo (our former American Lung Association Rep) on a new group to encourage healthy decision making and healthy living. We will have our first meeting on September 2 between the lunches. This will not be the continued time, but we will discuss that at the first meeting. We do not have a name for this group yet, that is another thing the students can do in the first meeting. If anyone has any questions come see me!!

Health Wellness and Safety Fair
This Friday, May 6, 2011, Earlham 5th through 8th graders will get to participate in a health wellness and safety fair. We will have speakers such as Earlham fire & rescue, a former animal trainer, a dentist, and many other great speakers to teach us about health, safety, and personal wellness. This is a great event made possible by the Madison County Health Systems, Madison County Cares, Earlham PIE, and Earlham Schools. We are very excited for our students to have this opportunity and we will have pictures soon to follow Friday's event.

School is almost out...
With just 25 short days left of school it is time to make sure students are aware of what their grades are. Time to buckle down and ensure students will pass all of their classes and stay on track. If students or parents have any question as to what grades are come in and see me. Juniors it is time to make sure you know where you stand for credits. Make sure you are on track to be a senior next year...come and see me if you would like to check your transcripts.

Speaker
On Friday April 15, 2011 we had the privilege of having Dan Keough from Mercy Hospital come and speak to our high school about making good choices while driving. Dan shared pictures and personal stories with us regarding kids who have made bad choices and the outcomes of those bad choices. With prom being on April 16, 2011, and April being Alcohol Awareness month, this was a good time to remind students of safe driving tips and encourage them to make the right choices. This was not Dan's first trip to Earlham; he also spoke at the end of our Every 15 Minutes alcohol prevention program in 2009. Prevention and good choices are the key to a positive future.

New to this
Hi there,
I have set up a blog to act as the web page for the at-risk department at Earlham High School. Hopefully this way this page will stay up to date with different programs offered, as well as services offered here at the school.
Thanks,
Crystal Hale
9-12 At-Risk Coordinator
